The paint covers the canvas perfectly and the background becomes evenly smooth. I only use an acrylics, because it seems the best for my graphic style. Golden color is my favorite! In my opinion, it brings light, emotions and nobleness to the canvas. Sometimes I can spend the whole day just looking for a perfect color. After all, the first thing that draws my attention at exhibitions are the paintings with rich, beautiful and, most importantly, laconic palette. Flacon is a vibrant new art centre at Dmitrovskaya Metro Station which used to be a factory. It's where young and fresh spirits fly over and bring new ideas and creative approach to business and art. Sometimes you can even trace what feelings I experienced at a certain period of time.Īlso, in my paintings, I focus on color, or rather on combination of colors. Flacon design factory Moscow Galleries and Art Centres There is a place in Moscow which is the centre of culture and full of life. Conveying emotions, feelings, atmosphere in a simple way is very important for me. I would like to develop a style between figurative painting and minimalistic abstraction. My teacher calls it painted (pictorial) graphics or graphic painting. Design-factory Flacon hosts several design bureaus, has a co-working space, a gallery, a club and a cafe. People interpret my painting style very differently. My works are in private collections in Germany, Netherlands, Israel, Estonia, Latvia, Sweden, Greece and Russia. In total, 100 artist works will be placed in a small platform 10 x 10 x 1 cm, that would be attached to the lunar rover. In 2022 my painting will fly to the Moon as part of collaboration between the Moon Gallery and the European Space Agency (ESA). In 2016 I published the book "Between us" in co-authorship with the poet Anna Arkatova, which harmoniously combined poems and paintings. I participated in 12 group exhibitions in Europe and Russia and also had 3 solo exhibitions in Russia and in Latvia. I graduated from the Faculty of Communications and Mass media at Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin). After graduating from School №686 (Class-Сentre of Sergey Kazarnovsky) I lived and studied in Germany. In 2017 loft-areas are no surprise in Moscow there are even better ones than Flacon (Arma is fantastic, Artplay for sure too), but this place remains my topper and the icon that has changed the whole district. My name is Maria Polushkina. This location is also a venue for a few annual events, so don’t hesitate to check the agenda or subscribe on the Facebook page to get invites. Now the territory hosts a few cafes and street-food vans, a number of show-rooms and shops, some ad agencies, design studios and even TV channel Dozhd’ (The Rain) – the only Russian TV channel worth seeing (IMHO). Let me confess, as a real slowpoke I visited it only in early 2017. I don’t come here often(a bit distant), but this spot is a “must-visit”. Hipster culture was just rising but the place managed to become one of the attraction points not only with its shops but also with several restos and cafes. Instead of constructing new buildings, the owner of this area focused on creating business blocks for design, fashion and architecture. In the late 2000s everything changed after Vinzavod (former wine plant) turned into a bunch of galleries. In 2009, former Crystal factory turned into “Design factory Flacon”. The outlook of those areas was quite miserable. The district around the centre of Moscow used to be very industrial during Soviet times but in New Russia many factories and plants just closed. To start with, I’d say that I love lofts.
